Shelter

Chrysalis House, a domestic violence shelter in Hood River, offers shelter, safety, and supportive services to survivors and their children. To ask about available space and eligibility, call the 24 hour hotline at 541-386-6603.

  • The shelter has 6 rooms, with separate rooms for each family.

  • Rooms are available on a first-come first-served basis. If Chrysalis House is full, we can help connect you to another shelter.

  • We accept pets.

  • Guests can stay 30 days.

  • We serve women, men and transgender people who are fleeing an abusive situation.

  • Bathrooms and showers are shared.

  • Chrysalis House has a common kitchen where meals can be cooked. Food is available. 

  • There is a common living area for eating, socializing, and accessing computers. Wifi is available.

  • There is a laundry room and laundry soap is provided.

  • Guests are required to meet weekly with an advocate to develop their personal action plan.

  • Guests are encouraged to take advantage of other services as well.
